Presentation and Discussion of Mindfulness Meditation
by Buddhist Monk, Bhante Sujatha
We are honored and delighted to host Buddhist Monk, Bhante Sujatha for a presentation on Mindfulness Meditation on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Bhante Sujatha is a Theravada Buddhist monk originally from Sri Lanka. He is the founder of the Blue Lotus Temple in Woodstock, IL, where he is the acting leader in the operational and spiritual fields.
Bhante Sujatha says he "believes in change, rather than tradition," particularly when dealing with life in our fast-paced Western society. His approach to teaching is easy-going rather than dogmatic, and he makes every attempt to explain things to American audiences so that even absolute beginners can understand how to practice meditation, and how to apply the spiritual teaching to their daily lives.
“My hope is to blend Buddhist teachings with American culture to bring peace and balance into our fast-paced and stressful lives. I teach Loving-kindness, Mindfulness, and Insight meditation and their application in our everyday lives.”
